Imago Dei Cleaning in partnership with Benjamin and Maricel Anum-Higher has established the Al Bandstra Christian Education Scholarship in honor of Mr. Alvin Bandstra of Pella, Iowa. The Anum-Higher's were taught by Professor Al Bandstra in a South Korean Seminary and his unique teaching style, good example, love and care for his students ultimately left a positive and lasting impression on all his students including the Anum-Higher's.

2021 Al Bandstra Christian Education Scholarship

Mr. Alvin Bandstra is passionate about Christian Education and for more than fifty years he taught in Christian Schools in Pella, Iowa, and in South Korea. He also taught several international students in a South Korean Seminary. This scholarship has been established to support and continue Mr. Al Bandstra's rich legacy of promoting Christian Education in the world. Through this scholarship, Imago Dei Cleaning hopes to help students pursue their educational goals in Christian Educational Institutions worldwide and lighten their financial burden.

This $500 scholarship will be awarded to international and U.S. students who plan to enroll in a Christian school/college or are already enrolled in a Christian school/college. The student must enroll full time in a Christian school/college within 12 months of notification that he/she has won the drawing. We are looking for students or parents to write a 500 word statement on Christian Education - what is Christian Education and why is it important? One to three students will be selected for this award. The deadline to apply is July 31, 2021.

Scholarship Eligibility

To qualify for the 2021 Al Bandstra Christian Education Scholarship, an applicant must currently be enrolled or plan to enroll in a Christian school or enrolled in a course of study at any Christian College/University. 


To apply for this scholarship, interested candidates or parents should provide the following:

A 500-word statement enumerating the importance of Christian Education. The statement must also define Christian Education.
An up-to-date transcript or school records from the applicant’s current institution of study. Unofficial transcripts are acceptable. (NOTE: first-year students are permitted to submit unofficial transcripts from their most recent institution attended along with unofficial documentation from their current school.)


The deadline to apply for this scholarship is July 31, 2021.
