OUR HISTORY
When the Anum-Higher family relocated from the Philippines to the United States in October 2015, Benjamin Anum-Higher took on cleaning contracts in Connecticut starting in 2016. He cleaned the offices of the Internal Revenue Service in Norwalk, CT, the Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, CT, Norwalk Hospital, Norwalk, CT, and two Churches in Trumbull, CT.

After the Anum-Higher family relocated from Connecticut to Iowa in August 2019, Benjamin and Maricel Anum-Higher continued their cleaning business in Pella, IA, cleaning churches and dentist's offices.
Benjamin later became the Area Operations Manager of a multi-state janitorial company. He was responsible for all the company's cleaners, trash haulers, and recycling crew in the Knoxville, Iowa, area. He supervised 17 employees, including janitors assigned to 3M Multinational Conglomerate Company and Weiler.
Benjamin and Maricel Anum-Higher founded Imago Dei Cleaning LLC. Imago Dei Cleaning LLC is a Certified Targeted Small Business in Iowa. The privately held company is located in Pella, Iowa, United States. The current company president is Maricel Anum-Higher. Benjamin Anum-Higher is the Chief Executive Officer.
Imago Dei Cleaning runs two social programs to give back to the community. The Al Bandstra Christian Education Scholarship provides scholarships to students studying in any Christian Institution of learning worldwide. It was established in honor of Pastor Al Bandstra of Pella, IA. Pastor Al Bandstra taught Benjamin and Maricel at a Presbyterian Seminary in South Korea.

Imago Dei also runs the Imago Dei Charities to financially support ex-offenders, low-income families, missionaries, poor widows, and the elderly.​ Benjamin Anum-Higher manages our social programs, including the Al Bandstra Christian Education Scholarship and the Imago Dei Charities.
“Imago Dei”—Latin for “Image of God”—was chosen as our name to remind us of the profound spiritual truth that motivates our work: that the men and women we work for or provide assistance to were born with an inherent dignity. Despite the Fall of Man, all people still reflect, in some way, the dignity of the Lord. MISSIONS
Imago Dei Cleaning financially supports missionaries worldwide and locally. We also support pastors, Christian school teachers, churches, theology students, and Christian schools/seminaries.

LOW-INCOME AND ELDERLY PEOPLE IN IOWA
Imago Dei Cleaning accepts applications for financial assistance from low-income widows, elderly, and people with a disability living in Iowa.

APPLICATION REQUIREMENT
1. A written statement explaining why you should be considered for the assistance;
2. A proof of income;
3. A monthly budget;
4. You must be a resident of Iowa.
The written statement should be completed on the application form below.

The low-income Iowans, elderly, widows and ex-offenders assistance is subject to the availability of financial resources.

EX-OFFENDERS FRESH START PROGRAM
Imago Dei Cleaning has established the Fresh Start Program to assist people coming out of the State or Federal prisons.

PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS
1. To be considered for this assistance, you must be a released incarcerated individual (prisoner);
2. You must have been released from a correctional facility not more than three months;
3. You must have no new charges at the time of the application, and you must stay out of trouble to continue receiving the assistance;
4. You must prove that you are actively searching for a job, we offer job application assistance including writing a resume, completing an application etc.;
5. You must be a resident of Iowa;
6. A written statement explaining why you should be considered for the assistance. The written statement should be completed on the application form below.

The ex-offenders fresh start program is subject to the availability of financial resources.
DORA SHASHA NSIAH OKPOTI MEMORIAL CHARITIES
It was established in memory of the mother of our co-founder Benjamin Anum-Higher. Dora passed away at the age of 80 in Ghana on February 4, 2022. She was born on September 3, 1941.
Only residents of the Greater Accra, Eastern, and Upper West Regions of Ghana are eligible for this educational charity. High school and tertiary students in these regions can apply for financial assistance to purchase school supplies.
